    Abstract:

    AIT(acetyleneinhibition).Theratesofdenitrification,nitrification,andammonificationrangedfrom0−734.15)22estuariesandpools.Thenitrificationrateswereeitherveryloworundetectableduringthemid-periodofculture.Theammonificationratesincreasedeachmonthinallsystems,butwerehighestinthetriplepolyculturesystem.Ahigherratioofshrimp)tograsscarpwasassociatedwithanearlierincreaseindenitrification.However,thesystemwasunabletomaintainthislevelofnitrification.Conversely,ahigherabundanceofgrasscarpresultedinadelayedincreaseindenitrification,butamorerapid,andsustainedincreaseduringthecultureperiod.Ingeneral,cultureswithfewerspecieshadlowerratesofnitrificationandcultureswithahigherproportionofsilvercarp)hadhigherratesofnitrification.Thepolyculturegroupthemonoculturetriplegroupandthebinarygroups(grasscarpandshrimporgrasscarpandsilvercarpWetestedtwostockingdensitiesofthepolyculturegroup,butitisunclearwhichofthesegroupsperformedbest.TheobjectiveofthepresentstudyistoaccesstheeffectsofdifferentpolyculturesystemsofgrasscarponthedynamicchangesofNatthepondssediment-waterinterface,andtoprovideacertainbasisforthefurther.
