    experimentreportedtheeffectsofageongrowth,survivalandpearlproductiontraitsofpearloyster.Thedonorandhostoystersweresampledeachfromtheselectedlinebyatwosuccessiveselectionforsuperiorgrowthinthebasepopulation.Pearlproductiontraitsincludedretentionrate,pearlthickness,highqualitypearlrateandpearlyield.Fourgroupsweredesignedinthepresentexperiment:Agroup,2-year-oldindividualswithnuclei-operation;Bgroup,2-year-oldindividualswithoutnuclei-operation;Cgroup,1.5-year-oldindividualswithnuclei-operation;Dgroup,1.5-year-oldindividualswithoutnuclei-operation.Growthtraitsofthefourgroupswereevaluatedbasedonthetotalweightmeasurementdataatdays15,30,60,180,270and450afternucleus-insertingoperation.Survivalratewereevaluatedamongthefourgroupsateachsamplingtimeandretentionrate,pearlthickness,highqualitypearlrateandpearlyieldbetweengroupsAandCwerealsocomparedatdays270and450.Itwasfoundthatthereweresignificantdifferences15,30,60,180,270and450afternucleioperation(higherthant<0.05).Thegrowthratesofly<0.05).Atday270afternucleus-insertingoperation,retentionrate,pearlthicknessandpearlyieldofgroupCweresignificantlyhigherthan<0.05),whilethedifferenceinhighqualityratebetween>0.05).Atday450afternucleus-insertingoperation,retentionrate,pearlthickness,highqualitypearlrateandpearlyieldofgroupCweresignificantlyhigherthan<0.05).Thepresentresultssuggestanewculturemethodforimprovingpearlqualitybysamplingyoungoysterashostoyster.
