Abstract:,healthyshrimpswerevaccinatedwithinactivatedwhitespotsyndromevirus(WSSV).WSSVwasinactivatedusingvaryingdosesofγ-rayirradiation.After20daysofcontinuousfeedingwithinactivatedWSSV,thesurvivingshrimpswereexposedtoactiveWSSVtotesttheirsurvivalrates.Itwasshownthatover216hours,thesurvivalratesattributabletoIE-5kGy,IE-10kGy,IE-15kGyandIE-20kGywere45.5%,54.2%,68%,and65.4%,respectively;themeanWSSVloadsofthesurvivingshrimpswere,comparedwiththatofdeadshrimpsof(3.8±4.4respectively.Withinthepositivecontrolgroup,thesurvivalratewas20%,andthemeanWSSVcopiesofsurvivinganddeadshrimpswere5.8±6.9,respectively.Itissuggestedthatthepresenceofaquasi-immuneresponsesysteminispossible,andexposuretoWSSVinactivatedbyγ-rayirradiationcanimprovetheanti-virusresistanceoftheshrimps.ThesedatashowthatWSSVcanbepreventedbyvaccination,therebyprovidingdatareferencesfordevelopingahealthyculturesystemfor
